Welcome to The Butterfly Movement.
To the news. To women being killed by the people who were supposed to love them. To my patients suffering from domestic violence. To transgender women fighting for basic dignity and still being told they don't count. To a movement on the internet that said women with butterfly tattoos don't deserve respect.
But I also started paying attention to something else. To my mother. To my friends. To every woman in my life who showed up, who held things together, who kept going when everything said stop. Every single woman around me has shaped who I am. And I realized: we are doing this for each other, even when we don't say it out loud.
The thing is: we already know how strong we are. But the world spends a lot of time trying to make us forget.
A piece of jewelry small enough to wear every day but heavy enough in meaning to say: you are enough. You are valued. You are not invisible.
And then I made it something you could give away, because that's what women do. We see each other. We lift each other. We say I thought of you when we didn't have to.
That's the movement. Not a hashtag. A practice.

The woman who is strong. The woman who is not strong right now. The woman who has been both in the same week.
Women who are done apologizing. Done shrinking. Done waiting for permission.
And the woman who is already standing. Who sees another woman struggling and refuses to look away. She is the movement too. She always has been.
It is for the woman rebuilding after loss. The woman finally leaving. The woman just starting over. The woman who has been so strong for so long she forgot what it feels like to be celebrated.
It is for her. It is for you. It is for the woman you're going to think of the moment you finish reading this.
We tell stories of women who don't get enough credit. We carry pieces that remind you of your worth. We build a community where the strong lift the ones still finding their footing, and the ones still finding their footing inspire the strong.
I see you. And you are enough.
The butterfly doesn't apologize for its transformation. Neither should you.
"Every woman has wings. The secret is knowing when to fly, and who to fly with."
